Co-directors of The Big Poetry Weekend
Helen Dewbery is co-editor of the online poetry film journal Poetry Film Live. Her poetry films have been screened internationally in poetry and film festivals including Visible Verse, Canada; Festival Silêncio, Lisbon; Sadho, India.
Helen teaches, facilitates and promotes poetry film to poets and filmmakers and uses poetry film in community settings to promote well-being, and as a means of enabling people to express complex experiences.
Helen is an Associate member of the Royal Photographic Society.
Originally from Normal, Illinois, Carrie Etter has lived in England since 2001 and taught at Bath Spa University since 2004, where she is Reader in Creative Writing. She has published four collections of poetry, most recently The Weather in Normal (UK: Seren; US: Station Hill, 2018), a Poetry Book Society Recommendation. She also writes essays, short fiction, and reviews.
Hilda Sheehan is the founder of Poetry Swindon in 2008, and the festival since 2012. Hilda has brought poetry to elders’ communities, schools, prisons and in 2013 she won a Poetry Can award for Poetry Development in the Southwest. Hilda first published Domestic Cherry in 2011.
Hilda’s debut collection is, The Night my Sister Went to Hollywood (Cultured Llama Press, 2013). She has also published a chapbook of prose poems, Frances and Martine (Dancing Girl, 2014). The God Baby was published by Dancing Girl Press in September 2017.
She now lives in Belgium and teaches at The European School, Luxembourg.
