How to get there, food and access

How to get to the Richard Jefferies Museum/Tent Palace of the Delicious Air
By train to Swindon Station
If you are travelling by train you can get a bus or taxi from the station.

By Car
Marlborough Road, Coate Water, Swindon SN3 6AA
The Museum is not the easiest place to find, especially as the front is
on a busy dual carriageway, and the postcode takes you a mile up the road!
We are on the corner of Marlborough Road and Day House Lane, next door to
the Sun Inn.

Please note that we have very limited space for cars at The Richard Jefferies Museum, usually reserved for disabled visitors. Otherwise, you should park at Coate Water. If you have a reason to want to park on site, please let us know.
If you are parking at the Holiday Inn you need to register your car at their reception as soon as you arrive.

Food served at the Richard Jefferies Museum is vegetarian or vegan. There will be both options available for all meals.
There is also food served all day nearby at the Holiday Inn and Sun Inn and an M&S garage opposite the museum.

Access requirements
Being a Victorian farm, the Museum itself is not particularly accessible
physically, especially for wheelchairs. Events at the museum are held in a
marquee in the grounds, which is accessible.

If you have particular needs that we can help with during your time with
us, please let us know.
